He is a minister of the church of Pentecost UK, currently looking after Reading District. He has held various leadership positions from the local church, ministries and committees in various levels in the church of Pentecost UK. He holds PhD in Education, MPhil Educational Studies and BPhil International Management & Policy in Education, all from The University of Birmingham from September 2002 to July 2013. In addition, Diploma of Higher Education in Theology and Missional Leadership and currently studying for MA Applied Theology Strategic Leadership in Christian Ministry. A trained Science and Mathematics Teacher with several years teaching experience in secondary schools in Ghana and UK. He has been a visiting Lecturer at Birmingham Christian College since September 2018.

Boakye was a Course Coordinator for Engineering Undergraduate Foundation Programmes at Cambridge Education Group ONCAMPUS Coventry University from September 2019 to August 2021. He lectured at ONCAMPUS Coventry University from November 2014 to August 2021, a centre for the delivery of International Foundation Programmes (IFP), International Year One (IY1) and Masters Qualifying Programmes (MQP). He was a multidisciplinary lecturer delivering on several courses; Postgraduate Skills Development (PSD) module and Research Project on the MQP. He taught Pure Mathematics, Skills for Science on the IFP and Maths for Business on the IY1. He is passionate about helping students to develop transferrable skills to be successful in their studies and future careers.
