Why Choose BCC?

BCC is at the heart of Birmingham, a multi-cultural and vibrant city.

A Home for Transformational Learning

If you believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is still powerful to transform worldviews and transform societies, then come and train with us at the BCC. Here are some of the reasons why you need to consider studying with us at BCC.

Inspiring Teaching

Our lecturers and facilitators are passionate about their subjects and teach with enthusiasm and zeal. All our lecturers are experienced and have a great passion for Jesus and equipping his people to establish his kingdom.

Our History

The College moved into the Selly Oak area of Birmingham in 2000. With this move, it re-branded itself as Birmingham Christian College and became a formal member of the Selly Oak Federation, poised to engage with a changing world and changing missions context in Europe.  In 2006, the college found its new home at the Crowther Hall campus, purposefully designed as a training centre for missionaries, previously used by the Church Mission Society (CMS) until 2004.

Our Vision

To create a multi-ethnic, inter-cultural and inter-denominational Christian environment where men and women of all hues are challenged intellectually and inspired spiritually to learn, worship and serve together to impact their generations with the power of the love of Jesus Christ.

BCC is Christ-centred, Bible-based, Spirit-led and Mission-focused.

Christ Centred

We provide individually tailored programmes of Christian training and education that equip and empower our students to trust and obey Jesus Christ so that His will is done more fully in thought, word and deed.

Established since 1953

Founded as the Birmingham Bible Institute, by Presbyterian minister Henry Brash Bonsall, at premises in Pakenham Road, Edgbaston where staff and students from different Bible-believing backgrounds lived together as part of an extended Christian family.

At BCC, we are learning to follow God wherever he leads in mission.

Whether you are looking for a short course, a weekend refresher package, a lay-leadership programme for your church or a full academic study, there is always something to meet your needs.  We acknowledge the huge change in the demography of Christian commitment in the world and initiate missional conversations that focus on addressing the rising needs. We create an enabling environment where men and women are challenged intellectually, enabled spiritually to be true disciples with Christian character to serve in churches, communities and the marketplace. Come and join us.

We Exist To Promote The Understanding and Practice of The Christian Faith

BCC was and remains an independent, interdenominational
evangelical training college that aims to help students from all backgrounds respond effectively to the call of God in a Christian environment. This has been noted as one of the main benefits of College life by the students
since the beginning in 1953.

BCC is a training college for Christian Ministry and Mission where men and women are modelled to become faithful disciples of Jesus Christ in the church, society and the marketplace. Situated on the Selly Oak Campus of Birmingham University, BCC has former students serving all over the world. With roots in the Evangelical and Pentecostal/Charismatic movements, it welcomes students from all church, ethnic, social and economic backgrounds. BCC has a missional attitude to all aspects of Christian service and is investing a great deal of resources to train non-Western missionaries in Europe to partner with local churches to reach out to both the indigenous and various Diasporan communities.
