HNC/HND in Business

Turn your dreams into reality with this widely recognised and highly valued HNC/HND in Business. You’ll develop a range of key skills essential for a successful corporate career at the leadership level, as well as build the solid foundations you’ll need to begin your entrepreneurial journey.

In today’s globally challenging and complex business environment, understanding the fundamentals of business is non-negotiable, both in a managerial and business start –up context. Strong, confident and proactive leaders, who understand the complexities of organisations are in high demand in all sectors.

The Level 4 (Year 1) units lay the foundations of learning by providing a broad introduction to business and different business functions. This approach develops and strengthens core skills while preparing you for specialist subjects at Level 5 (year 2) or to enter employment with the qualities necessary for job roles that require some personal responsibility. You will gain a wide range of business knowledge tied to practical skills gained through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios. You will engage in vocational activities that help you to develop vocational behaviours (the attitudes and approaches required for a competence) and transferable skills. Transferable skills are those such as communication, teamwork, research and analysis, which are highly valued in higher education and the workplace.

By the end of Level 4, you will have a sound knowledge of the basic concepts of business. You will be competent in a range of subject-specific skills as well as general skills and qualities relevant to key areas of business.

Our HND in Business is designed to give you a competitive edge and the practical skills to take your career to the next level. You’ll gain knowledge and experience through research, independent study, directed study and real-life workplace scenarios, giving you the all-round capabilities that employers are looking for.

The course is ideal for you if you’re looking to complete level 4 and level 5 of your studies, with the option to progress onto a one-year top-up degree at university to achieve a full undergraduate qualification.
